The search is on for the 2013 Great Allentown Fair Queen, a young woman selected to make appearances and represent the fair’s mission during the event’s Labor Day week run, at the State Fair Queen Contest in January and in the community throughout the year.   

The Lehigh County Agricultural Society, the nonprofit organization that has been operating the fair for 161 years, is looking for contestants from Lehigh, Northampton and Berks counties that possess an ability to communicate enthusiasm for the Allentown Fair, local farming and the agricultural industry.

"He's baaack!"  The highest ticket-selling comedian in The Great Allentown Fair’s history will return with his entourage of quirky puppet dummies for one performance on Sunday, September 1 at 8 p.m.

Dunham, undeniably one of the most successful ventriloquists of all time, sold an unprecedented 19,000 tickets for two nights of performances at the fair when he and his cast of characters Walter, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Peanut, Bubba J and Jose Jalapeño debuted there in 2009.

Tickets for the performance are $49 and $39.  They go on sale starting 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Fair Box Office and through Ticketmaster online, phone and outlets.

Grammy award winning artist JOHN MAYER and his special guest, 2012 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, will perform at The Great Allentown Fair on Tuesday, August 27 at 7:30 p.m.


Tickets for Mayer's first ever performance at the fair are $46 and $66. They go on sale as part of a special launch of Mayer's "Born and Raised Tour" starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster online and phones, only. The Fair Box Office will not be open for the national on-sale event.

Tickets that are still available for this concert and previously announced fair shows will be sold at the Fair Box Office when hours resume the following week Tuesday, April 2 through Friday, April 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Teen singing sensations Austin Mahone and Bridgit Mendler will co-headline one show at The Great Allentown Fair on Wednesday, August 28.  
    
Tickets to the show are $39 and $25. They go on sale to the public starting Saturday, March 2.
    
"We’ve got a 'teen-tween dream team here!'" fair Talent Buyer Bonnie Brosious asserted. "Both these artists have songs in the “most played" lists of the iPods belonging to an audience that we love to host at the fair, so featuring the two of them on one night doubles the attraction." she added.

Mayfair Festival of the Arts moves to improved site.

Mayfair Festival of the Arts, one of the Lehigh Valley's longest-running and largest annual events, is finding a new home in 2013: in the Lehigh County Agricultural Society's exhibit halls and event grounds.

"This new location gives Mayfair Festival of the Arts options it has never had," explained Arlene Daily, Executive Director of Mayfair, Inc. "In addition to what we offer outdoors, we are adding climate-controlled indoor space and free onsite parking."

Toby Keith, one of country music’s most enduring artists as evidenced by his 16 albums and perennial string of sold-out concerts spanning two decades, is returning to The Great Allentown Fair on Saturday, August 31.He will be joined by special guest and fellow country artist Kip Moore. 

Tickets to the show are $65 and $45 for seating and $80 for a small number of standing spots in a pit area in front of the stage.  They go on sale to the public starting Saturday, February 9.
    
Keith started pumping out gold albums and hits throughout the 1990s.  His breakthrough single “How Do You Like Me Now?” from his 1999 album of the same name became country music’s No. 1 hit single of 2000.

Luke Bryan, the emerging favorite of country music fans who won 10 fan-voted awards since mid November, will perform at The Great Allentown Fair on Friday, August 30, 2013.

The Georgia native was part of the country bill headlined by Jason Aldean that set a box office record at the fair last August. When he returns this August, Bryan will be on the top rung of the marquee with special guests Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line rounding out the bill.

Tickets for this first announced concert of the fair's show line-up go on sale to the public starting Saturday, January 19. They are $59 for festival standing room on the open air track (floor) and reserved seats in the covered grandstand.

Allentown Fair takes second place at PA Farm Show

Fair’s 2012 PA Preferred Products Display shows off local producers in winning style.

Visitors to the Pennsylvania Farm Show now through Saturday (January 12) will get a chance to see a display that had been at the 2012 Great Allentown Fair featuring agriculture-related products from the greater Lehigh Valley region.

Allentown Fair wins industry communications award.

Fair teamed with Adams Outdoor wins second straight 'outstanding' recognition.

For the second straight year, The Great Allentown Fair's advertising billboard campaign took top honors in the communications awards sponsored by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), it was announced last evening at the association's conference in Las Vegas.
